How Does It Work?
After unlocking the door to enter the room, set the Slide Action Latch Blocker mechanism over the existing strike plate by moving the handle down to cover the strike plate in the door jamb. Relock the door and move freely in and out of the room, no need to twist the handle, just give the door a push/pull. Should an emergency situation develop requiring an immediate lock-down, simply slide the latch blocker handle upward. You will hear a click as the ram secures the door in full lock position. With the latch blocker handle up, the door now functions normally without altering the existing door and lock set installation. No need to alert an intruder by opening and closing a door to activate the device.
